Hi.
This may be an incorrect question, but it still requires clarification.
Is it possible to decrypt tapes using a MSL Tape Libraries Encryption Kit on LTO libraries from another manufacturer (Non HPE)?
Regards, YA.

SolutionThe HPE Encryption Kit tokens cannot be restored on a non-HPE device. Tokens are needed to decrypt the data. Tokens are FW locked. Hence, copying/restoring it to a 3rd party device is not possible.
Hope this helps.

Re: MSL Tape Libraries Encryption Kit
@NarayanKK-SO , thanks for answer. I have one more question - can we migrate from MSL Tape Libraries Encryption Kit to any KMIP complian encryption key manager with current token on the MSL Tape Libraries Encryption Kit?
Thank you.

Re: MSL Tape Libraries Encryption Kit
Token and KMIP's are 2 different types of techs. Also, copying/transferring token from the USB kit is not an option. The ideal action would be to restore the data from the tapes. Migrate to KMIP and then backup the data to tapes again. Let me know if you have any further queries.
