MSL8096 barcode reader problems

MSL8096 is reading a lot of barcodes wrong.  For some it will just put the question mark icon.  For others it thinks it read the barcode but the label that Data Protector shows will have a few characters wrong.  

 

Any advice?

You either have bad labels (check them) or a bad reader.

Unfortunately the robot is no longer a spare part, now you need a new chassis ...
