Reading and restoring DAT24 tapes

Can anyone help me with the following problem:

Some while ago i have 'backed-up' some important information on dat24-tapes which i would like to retrieve. And here's my problem. I don't have a dat24-Drive anymore. Only a dat8-Drive.

can i use these dat24-tapes with former models like a dat8-Drive?

Who can help me with any suggestions?

Unfortunately no way. You need either DAT24 or DAT40

Or you can send them out to a service that will convert the format for you.
