dear all,
i have to replace a drive in an MSL9322, is it just so easy to open the rear panel and replace it online? user guide says that the drive is hot-pluggable, do i need to take the library offline and power-off it? some one says i need to upgrade the library firmware, is that true?(i don't consider that replacing a drive could lead to firmware upgrading) what is the procedure of upgrading firmware.
thanks a lot

I suppose it is an Esl9322.
The replacement can be done online.
But it is advisable to put all the drives at the same (latest) firmware level after the replacement. There is a chance that the new tape has a different firmware.
Firmware update are done through ltt
