SolutionTechnically, either medium should serve you well.
However given Quantum's admission that DLT is essentially dead, I'd probably go with LTO...

LTO is the more advanced technology, but only for ignite backups it may be oversized.
If you want to use a tape drive for ignite backups only, have a look at DDS tape drives, but for database backups I would choose a LTO.

For your purpose I would choose a half height model which are cheaper, a little slower but fully compatible with the full height models.
You can choose between Ultrium 232, Ultrium 448 and Ultrium 920 with 100, 200 and 400GB native capacity per cartridge.
