Storageworks 72 not able to access HDDs
Hi,
We recently installed an intel based web server at a clients with a HP Storageworks 72 backup unit.
Initially the problem we were having is that when the unit attempted a verify, it gave the error message:
Error: 'C: is not a valid drive, or you do not have access'
(and the same for the D drive)
We then installed BackupAssist to help in the back up of open files.
We have run into some difficulties in the running of the application, it
appears we are able to run a back up of the system state without any
problem, but we are unable to backup any normal files from the C or D
drive. An error is given as:
Error: 'C: is not a valid drive, or you do not have access'
or
Error: 'D: is not a valid drive, or you do not have access'
There is also an error message in the O/S event viewer of: error 8019
I enabled the shadow option in My Computer->properties and made sure there
was a shadow image available, I have also started the VSS services, which
wasn't on by default.
Is anybody able to help with
this issue, have you seen the problem before?
Thank you
Simon
