Hi there,
I have a Storageworks 1/8 ULtrium 960 Autoloader connected to an IBM eServer xSeries 346 running Netware 6.5 sp5. I am using the latest BackupExec 9.2. The SCSI adapter is an Adaptec AIC-7902.
My problem is that the drive is detected but not the autoloader. I have enabled multiple luns in the SCSI config (the 2 luns for drive and loader are detected at boot) and have tried loading the Adaptec driver with /lun or lun_enable=ff to get Netware to recognise the luns.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Geri

Solution
I had the same type of issues with a new unit, eventually the whole unit was replaced under warranty by one manufactured a few weeks later, different revision level. That problem went away. I'd suggest logging the hardware call without delay. To prove it you may have to buy the official HP SCSI adapter and run it through HP tapetools under windows though . . Hope that helps.

Re: Storageworks Ultrium 960 Autoloader not detected
Thanks - I really appreciate your reply. I logged a call with HP and I'd already checked everything that they asked me to. Their last suggestion was to buy a HP SCSI adapter (of course!) So that's my next step. I guess if that doesn't work I'll have to ask for a replacement backup unit - such a hassle. Funnily enough the AIC-7902 is on their list of supported SCSI chipsets.
