STT20000A Colorado Backup 8.0 II software

A harddrive crashed on a PC (one of my customers not mine), I put in a new HD and also reloaded w98se. I downloaded the software off of the HP website and installed it without error. The issue is that the software will not recognize the Tape device but w98se does. Any suggestions? This is a pentuim lll 500 mhz Dell pc.

That tape drive is a Seagate drive and as far as I know CBII only supported HP tape drives.
