Tape drive Idle on Tape Library , can not write data

Hi,  We just replace a new tape drive on our MSL3040 Tape Library drive. The installed went successfully with the the statue "Library Status Ready"

I am using L&TT tools doing read/write test and stuck on spinning up status.

Web inerface show the tape drive idle. 

Please help cause this causing all the back to failed

Tommy, Can you share some more details? What is the tape drive model - has it been configured into a partition? What version of LTT are you using? Does LTT "see" the drive? Does the drive load? What type of media is in the library?

Hi Barry,

I am using MSL3040(3240 firmware) and 30750 LTO8 tape drive(M571 firmware) . LTT 6.0 ver. IBM TSM backup server

Library no any error and show normal . But when i doing test in LTT software ,it can't write data to tape

I can control drive both in my backup software & LTT ,  and TSM can read tape data too , only write data fail.

So i am sure SAN connection is fine.

LTT doing some test , show as below:

1. LTO Drive Assessment Test - Passed
2. LTO Media Assessment Test - Passed
3. LTO Data Assessment Test - Passed
4. Device Analysis – Passed
5. Read Write test – Failed

this issues only happen on new replaced drive .

i have two old drive working normally and passed all testing.

please advise

Are there any errors produced? I think the next step would be to pull a support ticket from the drive to share with HPE Support.
