tape dvive on ciss (SmartArray 5i) under SCO OpenServer 5
Version 5.60A of HP ProLiant Extended Feature Supplement for SCO OpenServer Release 5 (SP23539) claims to add Tape drives in ciss driver.
What are correct values for mkdev tape command to get the tape drive working (SureStore DAT40) connected to external SCSI connector (for tapes only); SmartArray 5i bios reports this tape on Port 1 SCSI ID 5?
The command sconf -v does not see it.

did you ever get an answer / solution to this problem
I have a ML Proliant 370/G4 641 array controller running Openserver 5.07 efs 5.64A
and am unable to find the correct settings for the mkdev tape command
if you have any help would be appreciated

Re: tape dvive on ciss (SmartArray 5i) under SCO OpenServer 5
I've finally got my working
if you issue the sconf -v command this will give you devices attached to the scsii controller and also the mkdev tape configuration
it lists
device HBA name HBA num bus num id lun
in my case the hba name was lsil (apparently this is now the case of G4 machines)
if you entered the returned settings for the Stp device in your mkdev tape, then in my case it worked fine
good luck hope it helps
