Testing Read - Write

What/how test should I run to test if our HP MSL6000 is properly reading and writing to the backup tapes. Is there a test that will check network connection, reading, writing and any other necessary functions.

HP LIbrabary & Tape Tools (HPL&TT) software does the lot - but be aware it only does the local machine and not the remote machines being backed up

Also bear in mind that the quantity size and depth of your data really really affects the results. i mean really.

I've been through this for a while now and it is unlikely your network connection is even anywhere near its maximum capacity. Check read/write on source and read /write on destination

The software sounds like what I'm after, but I something that I can do either from the backup device or from a MAC server. Any ideas.
