Ultrium 920 External SAS Driver update
I have just installed a brand new Ultrium 920 External SAS. It shipped with firmware version C24D. I am unable to get it to upgrade to C26D. LTT complains that the personalities don't match. As far as I can tell, the tape drive has a hardware personality = 0x80030300 and a firmware personality = Standalone_0x3C02.
The support website indicates C26D is the most recent firmware for this tape drive, but the downloaded .frm file indicates it is for a HW personality 0x80090200, FW personality 0x2C02.
I tried installing the firmware first via the LTT (using LTT_Ultrium_3-SCSI_C26D_STANDALONE.frm), then via Windows (using cp012945.exe), and finally via the web download function in LTT (which only downloaded the old driver, C24D).
I have attached the .lzt file. The cpqsetup log is copied below
Can anybody help?

Re: Ultrium 920 External SAS Driver update
There are two slightly different hardware versions for the 920 drive and they use different firmware. It sounds like you have the latest hardware version which should have firmware Q24D. The C26D firmware is for the previous hardware revision and is incompatible with a drive that has QxxD firmware.

Re: Ultrium 920 External SAS Driver update
Confusing, but thanks for the clarification. Is there a way to verify that this is the case?
Also, would you mind providing feedback on the problem I have posted under a separate topic -- during restore (of a single 5 GB file), the transfer rate is only ~10% of the transfer rate that I had seen during the backup process. The motor sound indicated continual stop-and-go (or slow-fast speed fluctuations) every second during the restore pass. I had hoped this would go away with a firmware update, but looks like I'm out of luck. Is the observed restore behavior and performance normal (~10 MB/sec with stop-and-go every second, for a single file restore)?
Thanks,
JK
