vs 40/80 keeps coming with "Tape Drive Head Needs Cleaning"

I have compaq dlt vs 40/80 in a ml350, with w2000 sp4 and veritas backupexec 8.6.
It keeps coming with "Tape Drive Head Needs Cleaning" even when the heads are just cleaned.
I also used a new cleaning tape.
Does anyone have an idea?

first make sure you have the correcct cleaning tape. this drive doesn't use the same one as other DLT drives. HP part number should be C7998A

Thanks for you answer.
I had ordered the right cleaning tape but the supplier sent the wrong one.
So I ordered one with the number you gave me.
I asume the problem will be solved now.
