Cannot license new StoreOnce VSA 1TB free

Hello,

my Storeonce VSA with 1TB free license was crashed some days ago and I have to reinstall a new one from scratch.

The problem is that on Software Center website I'm not able to license a new vsa istance (with a new serial number).

On the following link I can onlyy download an ltu file already generated, but I cannot generate a new one for the new vsa

StoreOnce G4 - VSAEval | Trial - HPE StoreOnce VSA GEN 4 - 1 TB Freeware License  

Is there a solution for that ?

@Davide Depaoli_3 hello.

Please describe how you are trying to get a new license for a new device?

You go to the portal by following the link (https://myenterpriselicense.hpe.com/cwp-ui/software), in the search bar you type "1 TB Freeware License",  in the actions menu, you select "Get License"

After that, a form for specifying the serial number of the appliance and the virtualization platform should be available to you.

Hi Davide Depaoli_3,

 

When the customer installs this, the Base license is detected and installed first automatically.

 

In enterprise mode, the VSA will checkout a Base license and 1TB of local storage license when it first connects.
Unlicensed operation

 

If the demo license or the float licenses expire, or if the license server is disconnected then the VSA will enter a state where it has no valid license installed. 

 

When this happens the VSA will enter unlicensed operation. Data services will still start, but will be in read only mode. 

 

The user can connected to a license server or install a license at any time in order to restore full functionality.

 

If at the end of this 60 day period no valid licenses has been installed the system will lock. Data services will shut down

 

  Unlocking a system

 

If a customer has a locked system, it can be unlocked with the HPSUPPORT account. 

 

As mentioned above, if the demo license/grace period expires then the VSA will lock. If the VSA is moved or cloned, the VSA will lock.

 

The unlock process via the Licensing tool will only work for VSA's where the demo/grace period has expired. 
Care should be taken with this process as a locked system usually indicated attempts to bypass licenses (clock tampering), cloning, license violations or a license has not been installed on the VSA before the grace period expired

 

If the mode is set to UNSET, you MUST restart the system. On restart the system will check for seat licenses or license server configuration to determine the mode. 

 

If none are found it will default to demo mode. Resetting a system mode does not reactivate the demo license.

I don't have the possibility to change serial number of the appliance to generate a new license file.

Davide, do I understand correctly that you have a combined drawing consisting of several steps?

There were no additional screen forms between the first and second step?

I checked on my account - I have the option to form another VSA license if I have previously received one.

The serial number of the VSA cannot be changed for a previously obtained license. After installing the VSA again, you need to issue another new license. If this does not happen for you, then please contact the licensing center for support.

correct, there are no additional screens between my screenshot, and I don't have  opportunity to create a new key.
