Re: HPE Storeonce and Centreon monitoring

Hello @BloopaLooza

May I ask you to follow the below steps:

  1. Verify Plugin Configuration:

    • Double-check the configuration settings for the HW-Storage-Hp-Storeonce-Restapi-custom and HW-Server-Hp-Server-custom plugins. Ensure that all required parameters (e.g., API endpoints, credentials) are correctly set up.
    • Confirm that the RestAPI endpoints being queried actually provide the necessary information about disk and PSU status. Sometimes API responses can be different based on version or settings.
  2. Check API Response:

    • Manually test the API endpoints used by your plugins. You can use tools like curl or Postman to see if the API is returning the expected data, especially for disks and PSUs.
    • Look for any discrepancies in the data returned for expansion disks or specific hardware components.
  3. Review Plugin Logs:

    • Examine the logs for both plugins to identify any errors or warnings that might indicate why certain alerts are not being generated.
    • If the logs are not providing enough information, increase the logging level (if possible) to get more detailed output.
  4. Update and Validate Plugins:

    • Ensure you are using the latest version of the plugins. There might be updates or bug fixes related to hardware monitoring.
    • Validate that the plugins are correctly interpreting and processing the data received from the StoreOnce system.
  5. Consult Documentation:

    • Review the documentation for both the Centreon plugins and the HPE StoreOnce API. There may be specifics or limitations in the API that affect how data is reported or monitored.
  6. Check Alerting Configuration:

    • Ensure that the alerting thresholds and conditions in Centreon are set up correctly to trigger notifications based on the data retrieved by the plugins.
    • Verify that there are no issues with the notification settings in Centreon that might prevent alerts from being sent.
  7. Test with Different Scenarios:

    • Simulate failure scenarios (e.g., remove a disk or PSU) and see if the monitoring system detects and alerts appropriately. This can help confirm if the issue is with the detection or the alerting mechanism.
