Move Fail Over Manager in 2 Node VMware + FOM VSA
Need to Move Fail Over Manager in 2 Node VMware 5.5 + FOM VSA. FOM is currently hosted on separate VMWare 5.0 server that is being decommisioned. Looking for procedure to move FOM virtual appliance to newer VMWare 5.5 Host. The new host is outside of the VCenter datacenter.
Will this work?
1) Shutdown current FOM VM
2) 2 node VSA should maintain quorum
3) Move FOM VM with VMWare vCenter Converter to other VMWare 5.5 host which is outside of VSA VCenter
4) restart FOM VM on new host
Will the above work?
ANy other command required within FOM to re-join?

Re: Move Fail Over Manager in 2 Node VMware + FOM VSA
I wouldn't bother moving the FOM, better to just install a new FOM on the new host and then when that is updated and ready in CMC, you can remove the old one from the management group and then add the new one to the group and you will be without a FOM for all of two minutes.
As long as the FOM and nodes can can IP access to eachother then you will not have a problem with where they are located.
