2610 Switches
Can anyone explain why the 2610-24 and 2610-48 PoE switches have such noisy fans in them?
We have tried to use these in some offices and the clients have asked for them to be swapped as they are so noisy. We installed one in our own office and we are going to remove it. The switch makes way more noise than our DL380G6 server that has a full compliement of fans in it.

Re: 2610 Switches
Hi Andy
2610s don't have variable-speed fans. These boxes aren't designed to be installed in an office environment, but a separate room where you keep the racks.
Check out http://h17007.www1.hp.com/us/en/products/switches/selector/index.aspx and choose fanless switches for in-office deployments.
