5308XL switch and wireless access point
Hello,
by connecting to a 5308XL switch a wireless access point supporting up to 256 users, would I have some 32 users per port limitation on the AP?
thanks
Andrea

Re: 5308XL switch and wireless access point
do you mean that the 5300 port will limit the AP to 32 users? else? I dont see why what you suggest would not work.

Re: 5308XL switch and wireless access point
Actually - if the switch has a limit on the number of MAC addresses it will allow on a single port - which some switches can be configured to do, for security reasons (I'm not familiar with the 5308XL) - it will limit the number of wireless clients that can communicate with the wired segment.

Re: 5308XL switch and wireless access point
There are several references to a limit of 32 within the 5300-Access-Security PDF, so assuming a desire to impose security, the answer bould be yes. Of course a more complete answer can be had by reading the aforementioned PDF.
