762n Desktop - Modem Won't Disconnect
I can't get my modem to break my internet connection, to RECEIVE incoming calls. I have a Lucent V.92 modem. I have dialed in to a V.92 server (AOL is my internet provider). I have left my call waiting enabled, so I should be able to disconnect & receive an incoming call. Funny thing is, my old system running Win95, would disconnect when I had an incoming call. True, I would lose my internet connection, but at least I could receive that important phone call I was waiting for. Now here we are several years later & I can't get my state of the art system to do an old trick.
Following customer service advice from HP and AOL, I am still getting nowhere. I can't even find support through Lucent. Apparently, they have changed hands, leaving support issues to be swept under the carpet.
If anyone has shared this problem, or has any good solid advice on how to remedy it, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in advance.

Re: 762n Desktop - Modem Won't Disconnect
Hello,
Maybe could you update your driver, I know that lucent 4.20 has many known problems of connect / disconnect issues.
Is your modem lucent (which one) or is it a lucent chipset on another maker stuff ?

You can lean only on what resists you...

Re: 762n Desktop - Modem Won't Disconnect
try ,(catch a call) i think you can get them at walmart. it will inturupt the connection while you answer the important call and when you hang up, your right back on the net, good day.
