compatiability between procurve 2510-48 and procurve 400

When connecting a server to either switch all users on the server switch are faster than users on the alternative switch. We have the two switches connected by using the manage port of the Procurve 4000 to 1st port of the procurve 2510-48

While I'm not a switch guy, I am curious and so will restate what you have said to make sure I understand. You have two switches, a 2510 and a 4000, and they are connected. Also connected to one of the switches (I'm guessing the 2510 but I am not sure you stated that explicitly) is a server. When you access the server, the clients connected to the same switch as the server have better performance (presumably to the server) than clients connected to the switch one hop away from the server.

Does that get the gist of it?
