How to set up a redundant solution with 4 2910al on 2 different locations

Hi!

I want to set up the following:

2 rooms with identical hardware. each room:

2x 2910al, 2x 1Gbit/s FC Link to the other room. I need a redundant and performant link, so I decided to stack the switches in each room and configure a trunking between the members.

Next step would be to establish a spanning for the two FC Uplinks that connect to the next room. Am I right that Spanning always uses only one active connection? I would like to set up both FC Uplinks active for load-balancing. Is this possible and how?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

I'm not sure exactly how you've linked the switches (a simple diagram might help) but if you've setup the two fibre ports as a single trunk then the switches will do some basic load balancing across the two ports.
If you have not trunked the two fibre ports and are only using one VLAN then yes, MSTP will only be make use of the links.

We used only load balancing
