Multicast & 2800

Hello all,

We're planning to stream video in access rings - using VLANs to separate traffic - to a pair of central located 5400's, where also the network video servers are.
Only the cameras will be connected to 2800's in the access rings - there won't be any multicast receivers in the access.

Will the 2800 do the job in the rings?
We are worried about flooded access switches ...

Best ones,
Len

Re: Multicast & 2800

The 2800 and 2810 are both data-driven IGMP capable which means they will not flood multicast traffic even in the abscense of any multicast receivers. Any data-driven IGMP capable switch would be a good choice.
