PCM+ problem adding Cisco 878 or 1803
I am configuring my PCM 2.2 plus. I can administrate my hp procurve switches, but I can't add any cisco router.
They are third party routers, but I have the comunity name and the manual discover is ok, so is the comunity name, but when I click on next it never goes to the end, I have to stop it manually.
Do I have to add some configuration files ?
Thanks,

Re: PCM+ problem adding Cisco 878 or 1803
Non-procurve devices are not supported in 2.2. However there is a mechanism by which you can add them to PCM.
Please check the section "Managing 3rd-Party Network Devices" in this reference:
"http://ftp.hp.com/pub/networking/software/PCM-AdminGuide59908850-0507.pdf"
Hope that helps!
ps:Since this is your first post to the forum, thought will share w/ you some etiquettes followed in this Forum, including how you can show appreciation by assigning points ;-)

Re: PCM+ problem adding Cisco 878 or 1803
Thanks for your help, but it didn't worked, can you pleased help me diagnosis what is wrong ?
I created a file named Cisco878.udt
Cisco878 {
model=878
class=Router
product=878
SYSOID=.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.570
vendor=Cisco
Capabilities {
isRouter=true
isXRMON=false
isCLI=true
isCDP=true
isSFLOW=false
isProCurve=false
isRMON=true
isHTTP=false
}
}
Then a file named RouteurCiscoCTM.udd
RouteurCiscoCTM {
IP=10.3.254.254
Model=878
SYSOID=.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.570
Contact=Service Informatique
Manufacturer=Cisco
Location=CTM
SNMP {
Read=interface
}
}
I put them both in PCM/server/config/devconfig/extern
restart PCM, rescan for user defined devices, but still nothing appears.
Thanks a lots,
SR.

Re: PCM+ problem adding Cisco 878 or 1803
Ps: There has been two newer releases since PCM 2.2. Checkout the latest PCM 3.0 which has an exciting feature called "Configurable Integration Platform (CIP) Wizard" enabling easier integration of third-party devices. It also supports few Cisco devices by default.
Have a look @

Hope that helps
