Procurve 1700-24 configuration ??
And i want to do a simple job.
I want that some computers on that switch have internet and a couple of computers don't have internet. But all the computers must see each other.
I have on port #1 my internet connection from my router. And i want for example on #2 an internet pc, and on #3 an pc without internet.
But #2 and #3 must share files trough the network.
How can i do that?
Thank you,
Jeroen

Re: Procurve 1700-24 configuration ??
you need 2160 switch for seperate vlan use acl
or
you need 2510 switch useing for source port filter feature
or
if few client on network you can assign statically ip address on client (non dhcp)
assign internet use client ip address ,subnet mask ,default gateway and dns address manually
on pc
and
assign don't internet use client only ip address and subnet mask on pc manually

Re: Procurve 1700-24 configuration ??
as cenk said you can do this with the 1700.
but to do so you need to configure your clients with static ip's. and those clients who can get to the internet need an ip, the subnet, the ip of your router and the ip of an dns server. the other clients just need an ip and the subnet. then you have everything you wanted.

Re: Procurve 1700-24 configuration ??
ip address ,subnet mask,DNS address assign manually on windows pc
only dont't write default gateway on pc
this netwrok very small, unneeded routing :)
total 5 pc on network
