has no IP address assigned? If so, how?
Solved! Go to Solution.

Re: Procurve 2524 stacking member, firmware upgrade
serial console isn't my idea of having fun :-/
Those stacked switches are not in use yet.
This annoying feature of not being able
to update firmware, save config or even
using NTP with stacked switches came up
when a consultant was configuring them.
I wasn't too pleased when asked for to
allocate 50 more IP addresses.

Re: Procurve 2524 stacking member, firmware upgrade
Forget about my suggestion...
As you point it out, there is no other way than giving an IP... as each switch has to be designed somehow, and IP is THE way...
Good luck...

Re: Procurve 2524 stacking member, firmware upgrade
Yes you can upgrade the Member Switches by using the Commander. Just go into the Menu (option 7==>Download OS) Here you specify TFTP as the Method with the IP Address of the Commander. Use FLASH as the Remote filename.
I tested it 100%.
Thanks, Ardon

Re: Procurve 2524 stacking member, firmware upgrade
HP's own support already said this was not possible, but thankfully better knowledge can be found here ^_^
