We've got some Procurve 2524 and some Cisco Catalyst 3548 switches.
What I'm looking to do is introduce a backbone into the network, with the HP Procurve 4148gl. If I use the 3port transceiver(J4864A) with the SX Gigabit transceiver (J4131B) will the Catalysts connect up fine using the 1000BaseSX GBIC?
Many Thanks, James

Solution
In our organization there are several 1000Base-SX connections between Catalysts and Procurves (both SX Gigabit transceivers and mini-GBICs, both 4100GLs and 2524s, Catalyst 2950s and 35xxs), and there have been no problems with them.
Just make sure that the both ends of the fiber are using the same settings: auto or 1000full or whatever.

Re: Procurve 4148 and Catalyst 3548
Thanks for your help. I assumed it would work, just wanted to check with somebody that had tried it!
