Vlan Routing

Does anyone know what exactly the variables are in the following:

ProCurve(config)# ip routing
ProCurve(config)# ip route 0.0.0.0/0

I know that the 0.0.0.0 is the IP address but I do not understand what the /0 or the would be. Help please

/0 is an abreviation so that you dont have to type 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx . The Next hop is the gateway address - its you're default route.
