How to backup/get ALL configuration data out of HPE/Aruba Switch?
Hi all,
I know that via "show running-config" I can get a configuration summary out of a HPE/Aruba Switch.
But some information is missing, e.g. the routing information and maybe something else!?
My goal is to have a complete (!) backup of my core switch configuration so that I'll be able to push that to a backup switch in case, the core switch fails.
Doesn't have to work automatically since the backup switch will be a different/smalller model than the core and I will have to adopt some things (only the most important Ports etc) but I have to assure, that I have all necessary configuration data.
Is there another command that I can use? Or which commands do I have to use in combination?
[Edit]:
Ok, forget it. Routing information is included! Sorry, may fault!
Thanks and best regards,
Jochen

Re: How to backup/get ALL configuration data out of HPE/Aruba Switch?
Hi @cibomato
Technically speaking the running configuration (which is copied into the startup configuration each time you execute the write memory command) should already contain all information necessary to "run" the switch the way you want.
Probably what you're looking for is something like to the output of the show tech all command (valid for HP ProCurve running ProVision OS and HPE Aruba Switch running ArubaOS-Switch OS). HP/HPE Comware 5/7 OS based have a similar command IIRC.
Read here for capturing the show tech all, read here to transfer the show tech all output to a TFTP Server.
I'm not an HPE Employee
