Test if a port on a Switch is Defect

Hello everybody,

I've a problem on a port 18 on my switch (ProCurve 1800-24G)!

If I connect a cable with a printer or a computer ... the connexion doesn't work but with other ports, it works.

Obviously, I have checked the configuration of the port (VLAN, Speed, ...)

My questions are:

• Do you know how test a port correctly?
• If the port is defect, the warranty works?
