Wired 802.1x Continuous Authentication Restart with v1910 switches + Win 7

Hi,

We're trying to implement 802.1x-based authentication with HP v1910/3Com 2928 switches and NPS 2008/R2.

Our clients, which are Win 7 laptops, configured to enable 802.1x authentication in PEAP method.

The problem is that the clients are being authenticated successfully, and then after about 2 minutes the authentication is restarted (in event viewer there are two causes for this - one is "Peer initiated" and the other one is "Onex auth timeout") - they are again authenticated successfully and so on continuously...

I guess that the period of time between the restarts derives from a 802.1x setting on the switches which is the "TX-Period" setting (the amount of time defined there - 120 seconds - is the interval between the authentication restarts!).

How can I prevent those authentication restarts???

I'd be thrilled to get any assistance with that issue.

Thanks a lot,

Lena.

Solved it by disabling the multicast-trigger function on the ports.
