10 Mbits with WHS and 100 with XP
I have an old notebook HP nc6000 where I have recently installed Windows Home Server SP2.
I successfully installed the broadcom nextreme gigabit driver (built for XP Pro) on WHS.
In "auto speed" it can't get the DCHP address. After some tests, I found out that it works only at 10FULL, not at 100FULL. Driver version is 6.34, the latest provided by HP for nc6000 XP Pro.
I've also tested the Broadcom latest driver for 5705M chipset for Windows Server 2003 with same result.
I have an other disk with XP Pro for the nc6000 and with this one it automatically gets 100FULL and the IP from DHCP.
So it seems a SW problem rather than an hardware issue or the cable.
The wireless network works great!
Both wireless and LAN connects to a D-Link DSL-G624T router.
Can someone help to get 100FULL in WHS for this network adapter?
Many thanks in advance!!!
