Hi,
I have my Windows Server 2003 box connected to disk array XP512, with S-vol disks configured there. Problem is, that a huge number of warnings (An error was detected on device\Device\HarddiskX during a paging operation.) are created continuously in the Event log filling it up in a few minutes. S-vol disks in PAIR status are visible to OS, but the problem was not resolved even by creating them with -m noread options (paircreate).
Any ideas? Help will be appreciated.

Solution
Could be the disk timeout needs to be increased.
However it could also be a number of other issues.
HBA/drivers
Do you use scsiport or storport drivers
2003 SP1 or SP2 ?
If SP1 or without SP be aware there are a lot of hotfixes regarding disks.
Storport.sys updates
VSS updates
Cluster hotfixes
MPIO updates
etc...
Cheers,
Rune

Re: An error detected during a paging operation.
Hi Rune,
Windows Server 2003 SP1 with storport drivers is used with no cluster or MPIO in place.
Thank you,
N.
