Can the Automatic Updates Reboot Dialog be Suppressed?

Since installing some critical / security updates on win2k3 SP1, I am getting the following dialog:

http://orion.neiu.edu/~jbollyn/temp/auto-updates.jpg

I don't want to reboot this server for a couple days. Is it possible to suppress this dialog, perhaps with a registry edit? This dialog appears very often, and is really annoying.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Can the Automatic Updates Reboot Dialog be Suppressed?

Hi Joseph,

My goal is to suppress the Automatic Updates dialog (and obviously to *never* have the server reboot on its own).

Your blog link looked promising, until I read *all* the responses. The last couple responses, combined with a careful reading of the Extended view in gpedit.msc, seem to say that what I am trying to do cannot be done, at least with this particular policy setting.

(Unless I am missing something obvious, which has happened before.)

hi jay,

how about checking if there is a value added into the registry:
