Clustered SQL Server 2000 servers on Itanium

Hi guys,

I am planning to implement a clustered Itanium server solution using 2 rx2620s running Windows 2003. These will be used as DB servers with SQL Server 2000 64-bit version. Also planning to attach them directly to an MSA1000. Would this setup be ok?

Thanks.

I do not see anything wrong here. Just so I know... you going to get an MSA1000 with the MSA2/8 SAN switches? (or the 2/3 hub if available still)

You physically can not direct attach more that 1 server to the standard fibre modules of an MSA. You need a hub or a switch to connect more than 1 server.

How much RAM will each box have? Local Disks of OS?

Hi Rommel,
AFAIK this configuration can work. However you can ask here

They are expert in Itanium Server and Storage. Also, this thread stay better in Windows 2003 64 bit.
