Re: HP 6110 on W2k or W2k3
I am one of users of the product, officejet 6110, and working on Windows 2000/2003 Server.
Can you list out the requirement, drivers... etc for installation on Windows 2000/2003 Server?
For example, What the drivers we can be used in those platform? What file we need to modify before install? What software we need uninstall before install? Can we re-install the software after the installation?
Thank you for you help and time.

I think the answers to those questions have already been given by other people in this thread.

Re: HP 6110 on W2k or W2k3
For my part, I'm trying to hook this to a Hawking HPS12U, and I've been working with the v3.5.0 version (2004-04-18), which differs from the one(s) mentioned earlier (2003-11-11, or even something else.
The primary suggestions thrown my way to date have been:
- edit autorun.inf to allow override
- hook the printer directly to the server first
The relatively stable link to HP support is http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html , but the earlier specific driver link posted above no longer works.
The current link (subject to change) is http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom〈=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_query=6110 , but it still has three choices; mine is a plain 6110 all-in-one. The current link (subject to failure) is http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=79477〈=en&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&
Whether I choose the 2000 or XP version from driver downloads, I get the same file (kl_ep_w01_enu.exe), but in unpacking it on the server, hooking up the printer, and editing autorun.inf to read
[SystemRequirements]
Overide=Yes
OSList=500,501
MaxOS=
I still cannot get the setup.exe to advance beyond calculating disk space. 2003 itself understands what the printer is, identifies it as a 6110, and will happily copy some files (along with warnings about no Microsoft certification), presumably to system32 or something similar, but this does not result in a new printer that I can later change the port on.
So like Gordon, I am puzzled, and if Ken or Craig could volunteer some more detailed info, including what version of the driver they're using, and more of a step-by-step list of what they did, I would greatly appreciate it. In lieu of that, if someone has an FTP link to the driver that they did have success with, that would be equally welcome. I have visited ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub2/all_in_one/software/, but without success.
Cheers...

Re: HP 6110 on W2k or W2k3
Apparently the older driver is no longer available. The 3.5 version is available from here:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=79477&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&submit.y=6&submit.x=9〈=en&cc=us
by choosing either Windows XP or 2000. The following 'disclaimer' is included in the Description for the driver:
"This installation DOES NOT support network (wired or wireless) installations.
The software solution will install print and scan drivers without requiring intervention (unattended installation) from the user."
I suggest that before attempting to install the 3.5 driver/software, that you install the latest firmware and Software Cleanup Utility from the same location(s).
The 3.5 driver/software available for download is considered for 'corporate' users. I suspect that to get the version for 'home' users, you may have to order the CD. Depending on your country of residence, it is available for purchase via telephone or internet. See:

Re: HP 6110 on W2k or W2k3
I have taken the time to register to this site so I can post up info as a solution to this problem.
I am currently upgrading a client from SBS 2K to SBS2K3 and had previously used the System requirement overide=YES fix but on the new server and the new corporate drivers it didn't work.
I have gone back to the old server and earlier auto.inf to find the difference and have made the required modification.
The install then proceeded without a problem. I then attached the device and all the various drivers installed.
Here is are the lines from my .inf file
[SystemRequirements]
Overide=YES
OSList=410,490,500,501
MaxOS=501
I hope this helps as many people as possible as I was really pissed off that HP (incl the useless call centre) were so vauge about what OS they support and I think the only reason the have put this switch in the code is because the don't want business customers using this device off a big thumping server and thus serving lots of people as they are greedy and want you to buy a bigger multi-function device in their range.
Well HP....stiff cheese. The above code works a charm thanks for nothing.
