ML 110 G5 Reporting Bad Block via Storage Manager

Hello,
I have a 6 week old Prolaint server. I have configured the HP Storage manager to alert me via email of any warnings and error.
Today I started receiving warning messages advising the following:

This message was generated by the HP Storage Manager Agent.
Please do not reply to this message.

Event Description: Bad Block discovered: controller 1, port 1 (LBA 0x00A90797).
Event Type: Warning

Is this telling me that there is potentially a problem with the hard drive attached to Port 1? or should I not worry too much if its only a 'warning'?

hope someone can help

regards

Re: ML 110 G5 Reporting Bad Block via Storage Manager

sohoit,

I'd open a case with HP as it sounds like the driver is failing. If you have RAID 0 or 5, you'll be okay with just swapping the drive that has been identified (port 1).

Let me know.

sohiot,
Sorry. I meant RAID 1 or 5, not 0 (striped).
