Pop up Message sending tool

Hi all Professionals,

I need a tool to send a message from my Computer (Domain Administrator PC) to any pc in my domain such that appears as messenger popup or even window containing text. This is useful to inform any user to take certain action immediately and remotely.

Thanks for your replies.

Tamer.

You've tried NET SEND ??
or NET SEND /DOMAIN:your_domain_name message_text ??

I agree with the last guy.

NET SEND /USERS "Get off the server"

If you ran that from SERVERA, it would be send to all USERS currently connected to ServerA

Re: Pop up Message sending tool

That is, of course, if you have the "Messenger" service turned on. If not, net send will probably not work.

Messenger service is is usually ENABLED on Windows 2000 OS's and DISABLED on XP w/SP1+ OS's.

Net Send Lite uses the Messenger service as well.

If you have no problems turning on the Messenger service, the these are the ways to go. If you have a closed network, you should not have any issues. Most people disable this service because other people have "net sent" messages considered to be spam or otherwise non-related to them.
