Possible False Alarm on battery attached to Array Controller P400
I have a PROLIANT DL380 G5 with an Array Controller P400 firmware version 5.26 and I recently installed PSP version 7.91A.
OS installed is Windows 2003 Ent Ed.
There are lots of Widows event logs like these ones:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: Storage Agents
Event Category: Events
Event ID: 1204
Date: 28.05.2010
Time: 20:36:50
User: N/A
Computer: ILLEMACTX05
Description:
Drive Array Accelerator Status Change. The array accelerator board attached to the array controller in Slot 1 has a new status of 4.
(Accelerator status values: 1=other, 2=notConfigured, 3=enabled, 4=tmpDisabled, 5=permDisabled)
[SNMP TRAP: 3038 in CPQIDA.MIB]
Then …
Event Type: Warning

Event Category: Events

User: N/A
Computer: ILLEMACTX05
Description:
Drive Array Accelerator Battery Failed. The array accelerator board attached to the array controller in Slot 1 is reporting a battery failure.
[SNMP TRAP: 3040 in CPQIDA.MIB]
Data:
And then…
Event Type: Information
Event Source: Storage Agents
Event Category: Events
Event ID: 1204
Date: 28.05.2010
Time: 22:06:50
User: N/A
Computer: ILLEMACTX05
Description:
Drive Array Accelerator Status Change. The array accelerator board attached to the array controller in Slot 1 has a new status of 3.
(Accelerator status values: 1=other, 2=notConfigured, 3=enabled, 4=tmpDisabled, 5=permDisabled)
According with the HP System Management Home page there are no errors on the battery, my question is how can I stop these false alarms?

Re: Possible False Alarm on battery attached to Array Controller P400
The first message occurs because the battery isn't charged (tmp disabled). This will contnue to notify you until you get to the second message.
The second message occurs when the charge is completed and the array is cacheing(Enabled).
Unless this is continually changing state, there isn't a problem.

Re: Possible False Alarm on battery attached to Array Controller P400
Thanks for your reply, but actually the problem is that these alarms are been generated one per day so they are continually changing state.
Any help with this would be really appreciated!
Regards,
Pablo

Re: Possible False Alarm on battery attached to Array Controller P400
It is not normal behavior
Your P400 firmware version is very old
Try to update to last firmware 7.18

I suggest to update PSP to 8.40 as well
If it is not help - open call and HP will replace board
