Re: Problem of Failback in win2003 Clustering...

Salut Richard:

Mon francais est pas assez bon puis les Forums demande l'anglais. Sorry!
---------------------------------------
My French is not good enough and the Forums demand the use of English.

I am going to refer you to a website that should help you but I want to mention a few warnings first. The website is designed to help people optimize their broadband internet so it does not directly pertain to what you're doing but it will explain MTU and tell you how to check the MTU setting using a downloadable tool (DrTCP).

Here is the link: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/6266

Unless you're very knowledgeable about MTU, I suggest you read a lot before you 'tweak' the MTU settings. On the other hand, your primary goal is to ensure that all your cluster servers are set with the same MTU. To check the MTU setting, try downloading and running DrTCP or manually edit the registry. Download DrTCP from here:
http://www.dslreports.com/drtcp

To manually edit the MTU setting within the registry, edit this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\'AdapterName'\Parameters\Tcpip

where 'AdapterName' will have to be extracted from your system.

One more caution: the information in this message and in most of my sources is not specific to Windows Server 2003. Use this carefully. ALWAYS backup the registry before editing it.

HTH
