RIS Troubles regarding HP Notebooks

Hello,

I was wondering if there exists a patch to fix the following issue.

When slipstreaming WinXP SP1 and Hotfixes together, creating a new baseimage a HP NC8000 or NW8000 won't boot.

After integrating the proper Broadcom driver (a precompiled HP Package, extraced b57xp32.xxx) and editing the INF File in order to fix RIS issues the Notebook boots, installs and event integrates all files mentioned in $OEM$\$1... (due to our SIF Definition) and so on. I even integrated the Broadcom-Driver within my oem definitions.

But the Broadcom Driver won't install proper. I have to remove the driver and to reinstall the driver - there's a warning about driver signing policy - and it works fine.

As mentioned above I guess it's all about the driver signing policy.

Just for your information a snippet from my install.sif file...

[Unattended]
DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore
OemPreinstall = yes
FileSystem = LeaveAlone
ExtendOEMPartition = 0
ConfirmHardware = no
TargetPath = \WINNT
OemSkipEula = yes
InstallFilesPath = "\\%SERVERNAME%\RemInst\%INSTALLPATH%\%MACHINETYPE%"
OemPnPDriversPath = nic\....;

Any Ideas how I can integrate the driver that way it works - lets say - out of the box? Thanks for your help...

Re: RIS Troubles regarding HP Notebooks

Found this when searching the web:

Seems there are some "tweaks" for Broadcom.

Cheers,

Re: RIS Troubles regarding HP Notebooks

Thanks for your Answer but I've already done that.
As mentioned before the driver seems to be working but after a Windows restart the driver is marked with an exclamation sign and won't work. I have to uninstall the driver, search for new Hardware - the driver will install itself (without CD or whatever). Installation process is nagged by Windows' Driver signing policy. After accepting that the installed driver isn't a WHQL it works fine....

The nuisance about that is that a domain account will be created (during textmode) but the computer can't join that domain until "replacing" the driver.

I thought someone might know the trick...

But thanks anyway :)

Re: RIS Troubles regarding HP Notebooks

I have same issue in our eight nc8000 and couple of nc6000 laptops. Tried all kind of helps found in web and ask help from hp-support in Finland, but no answer.

I must say that i'm little dissapointed that microsoft does not provide native support for these drivers as HP ships laptops with MS OEM os.

Havent tested with SP2, but maybe i'm hoping too much again. If somebody has tested with SP2 post your results here. I have ris image updates ahead and this would be great help.
