System Drive

When my 2003 server was installed the system volume was only given 7 gb and not made dynamic. I am now running out of space and have 267GB unallocated. I do not want different partitions and would like to add the 267GB to the system partition. Is there an easy way to do this or is it a rebuild?

Re: System Drive

No. Probably, if you haven't already done, you should move the pagefile.sys file to another disk partition. You can change this from system properties.

Re: System Drive

What about using Microsoft's Diskpart utility? Microsoft KB 325590 -- http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325590
It looks like it may or may not work on the system partition. And it looks like you may need to move the system page file to a different volume first.

Of course, when doing things to your system disk, be sure to get a full, VERIFIED backup first!
