Hello Petr,

could you describe your problem a littel bit more exactly?

What do you mean with "enabling the server".

At disappearing power, PowerChute switches off the server. After renewing power, UPC (Smart APC 5000) gives power on server, but that is not switches on! On similar server with Linux and identical adjustment PowerChote and BIOS, server, after presenting the voltage - is switches on.

Petr:

I'm not certain about the DL740, but there is usually a BIOS setting to control this. It will offer several options "On restoral of power", such as 'previous state', 'remain off', 'power on', etc. Choose the 'power on' option.

Make a great day!

This is most likely the cause if i understand the problem correctly. Basically the server remembers its last power state when the power is removed. Because the server powers completly down based on the UPS function it is not able to power back up. There is a patch that needs to be applied, that way when the UPS tells to server to shutdown it actualy goes to "It is not safe to turn off your computer" versus actually power off. That way when power is restored the last state was ON and it will power back on. More info from MS --> http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;819760

Patch --> ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp25501-26000/SP25746.exe
