Hi,I've a doubt. After a CPU upgrade in the empty node,I've reconnected the 3 Fibre Channel in multipathing with a SAN EVA8000.I'm sure that the fibre channel are connected in the right way and from the HP MPIO DSM Manager of Computer Management I can see all the 8 available paths.I've a doubt because in "my computer" under hard disk drives I see only the system disk C, and in Disk management I see the 8 disks with the label "unknown" and "unreadable".I know that this node is not active at the moment, but in other clusters I can see the disks in my computer and in disk management, and only after the double click I read for example : J:\is not accesible The request resource is in use. Thank you very much

Solution
From what you explain, this seems quite normal to me.
If the disks are visible to the server they will be listed in Device Manager.
To Windows the clusdisk.sys will basically not allow the OS any access to the disk. That they are listed as inaccessible in Disk manager is normal.
Do make sure that if you have added extra disks for SQL to modify the SQL resource so it has a dependency on all disks it uses.
Preferrably test via "Move group" that everything works fine also - but schedule to do that during a downtime window.
Cheers,
Rune

Re: windows 2003 Cluster MSSQLServer
first on the EVA verify the volume in only presented to this cluster and not to other nodes on the SAN.
second in cluster-administartor you must add the disk as a cluster-resource in a resource-group (this would be the sql group?).
only then both cluster nodes know it's a shared resource and only one of them controls this resource.
now on the active node you can create partitions and format the drive.
