Folks,
I am trying to install CommandView XP 1.8b on Windows 2000(SP4) PC and the installation is failing with the error the JRE V1.4.2 is not installed. I have installed JRE V1.4.2 on this PC and it is there. I have uninstalled and reinstalled in case the original installation was corrupt.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Subhas

SolutionRemove the JRE you have installed and install the version at http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.4.2/index.html. You should be able to install the update version after CommandView is installed.

Re: CommandView XP 1.8b
Thanks for the tip. I had installed 1.4.2_06 assuming the newer the better. I did not realize that the application was specifically looking for 1.4.2 and will not accept older one or newer one. Very frustrating. It is working now.
Thanks,
Subhas
