XP Array Hostgroup mode diff

I have BC configured, P-VOl presented to NT box with hostgroup mode (2C) and S-VOL presented to dummy hostgroup (08 - wrongly selected), will there be any effect on the Data on the S-Vol, when presented to host later, as there is a hostgroup mode diff b/w P-VOl and S-VOl

Yes, you need to change the host mode before the host starts accessing the SVOL. Corruption "can" occur if you dont. And its not supported to access a LUN with the incorrect Host Mode set.

Will need to have any changes with BC PAIR relation (Suspending) or i can change the hostgroup mode online having BC Pairs in PAIR state.

No you don't need to change the BC configuration as it will continue to address the PORT#/HOSTGROUP#.

Additionally if you are using multipath then do it one by one (at an interval, I will suggest 15 mins) i.e. first do it for CL1 and then CL2.

Also do it in off-peak hours so that your secondary host is not communicating with XP heavily.

Re: XP Array Hostgroup mode diff

suppose i don't change the hostgroup mode of S-vol's (diff from P-vol hostgrop mode) and present the S-Vol to any host, will there be data corrupted... as the hostgrops mode are diff b/w P-Vol and S-Vol.

Re: XP Array Hostgroup mode diff

No one will guarantee you for that but accept the fact that your configuration is problematic and it can cause anything from slower performance to a data corruption.

HP does not support any problem arises due to a mis-configuration like this.

In this case, you should quickly rectify the issue.
