HPE announces Azure Stack HCI and HPE GreenLake
As you probably already know, HPE GreenLake provides an elastic as-a-service platform that can run on-premises, at the edge, or in a colocation facility. For customers on a path to digital transformation, it combines the simplicity and agility of the cloud with the governance, compliance, and visibility that comes with hybrid IT.
In some exciting news, HPE and Microsoft recently announced an expanded HPE GreenLake partner ecosystem that includes providing the cloud experience on-premises for customers of Microsoft Azure Stack HCI. With the offer, Azure Stack HCI, a new hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) operating system from Microsoft, is delivered as an Azure service on the HPE GreenLake cloud platform to help customers accelerate data center modernization, remote office productivity, and many edge applications.
New joint engineering has resulted in tight integration that gives customers more flexibility and control, enabling them to transform their on-premises and edge workloads with a cloud experience and operating model for applications and workloads close to where the data lives.
Combining Microsoft Azure Stack HCI with the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform gives customers a unified, automated experience that lets them determine their own right mix of Hybrid Cloud and workload placement, including general purpose and business critical applications, virtualized and containerized applications, and small and large scale environments.
The collaboration and co-engineering between HPE and Microsoft to integrate HPE GreenLake with Azure Stack HCI has resulted in a managed services solution that gives our customers simplicity, flexibility, security, and the economics that work for their environments.
Key benefits include:
- A flexible cloud platform that provides automation, self-service, and capacity on demand along with the ability to use a broad range of toolsโall managed for them.
- Simplified management including the ability to control services through the Azure portal in the same way that they manage their Azure public cloud services. With HPE GreenLake cloud platform, customers can manage, bill, and grow their environment as they grow.
- Pay-per-use pricing, point and-click self-service, scalability, and flexibility of the cloud experience with the security of dedicated, on-premises IT with total cost of ownership (TCO) savings and no more need for overprovisioning.
HPE GreenLake with the HPE Validated System for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI is available immediately, with an integrated system available later this year.
