I don't want to give you the wrong impression. I'm not an expert on keystroke loggers, rootkits, etc. I just basically know what I've been reading about them.

If you'd like to read up more on them, here are a couple of resources.

For this one, put the search term in the search box in the upper right corner, then use the drop-down box to the right of it to select All Ziff Davis Sites. The results will include PC Magazine which should have a lot of articles on this stuff, but unfortunately, PC Mag decided to disable the All Ziff Davis sites function from their search, so you have to go in the back door.

Finally, on your event 1002: Go here, put 1002 in the Event ID: box, then put Application Hang in the Source: box, and search. In the results page, click the "Comments and links for event id 1002 from source Application Hang" link for write-ups. Note that some of the material is only available for paid members, but you can pick up a lot of information for free.
