Mobile World Congress Americas 2018: What Comes Next

In this digital age, mobile is essential to driving innovation, enabling creativity and advancing economic growth. Mobile connects more than two-thirds of the worldโ€™s population. It fuels innovation, revolutionizes industries and spurs exciting new opportunities around the world. It inspires to think bigger and bolder, envisioning a brighter tomorrow.

As mobile connects the world, more collaboration and inspiration is initiated. In 2018, Mobile World Congress Americas (MWCA) will continue to grow as the premier platform for discovery and discussion among the mobile industry in the Americas region.

The MWC Americas 2018 is a must-attend event to be held on September 12-14 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The GSMA expects that approximately 25,000 professionals and more than 1,000 companies from across the mobile industry and adjacent industry sectors will participate this year. About 200+ Conference speakers and 110 countries with 300+ Media Analysts will be under one roof at the MWCA 2018.

This event continues to expand and build on its successful event platforms. With several sponsors and partners, along with new partnerships, it is excited about everything this year has to offer. MWCA 2018 will bring together the brightest minds in the industry today, to imagine what tomorrow could bring. โ€œThis yearโ€™s show will illustrate how mobile is reshaping, and how media and content is produced and consumed. Along with our partner, CTIA, weโ€™re excited to put a spotlight on how mobile is enabling a better future at Mobile World Congress Americas.,โ€ said Michael Oโ€™Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA.

MWC Americas will showcase how mobile is creating the connected life, transforming how individuals, businesses, and entire industries communicate, interact and innovate. It will highlight innovations in core mobile technologies, consumer and industrial applications in the Internet of Things, the intersection of mobile with entertainment, content, and media, and the leading role of the Americas region in driving global innovation.

Leading players from across the mobile ecosystem, as well as sectors such as automotive, consumer electronics, and media and entertainment, will gather to showcase the latest in mobile products, technologies, and services during the three-day show. More than 1,000 companies will participate in the 2018 Mobile World Congress Americas, including major brands such as Accenture, American Express OPEN, Cox Business, Ericsson, G+D Mobile Security, Nokia, Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics America, Samsung Networks, Sprint, Syniverse, TELUS, Verizon and ZTE among others. Hewlett Packard Enterprise is one of the exhibitors at the event.

The conference will explore the intersection of mobile with content, media, and entertainment. Topics will include the new all-encompassing and immersive consumer journey; the rise of AR and VR, now on the cusp of mainstream consumer adoption; the soaring costs of content budgets and competition; the demanding role of content as the new growth-engine for operators; and the scrutiny on the functions of media, social media and news media.
