Being a force for good – HPE Bulgaria awarded for charity efforts across 2023

In 2023, HPE Sofia site team members spent almost 12,000 hours volunteering and donated over 332,000 BGN to different causes and foundations. These outstanding achievements have been recognized during the 10^th annual awards of the BCause Foundation. At the ceremony, HPE Bulgaria was honored to receive the highest possible recognition - The Golden Responsible Company – Responsible Employees Award. Together with 22 other companies from all industries, we have been recognized for our policy and strategy to encourage, engage, and empower team members to volunteer.

On a local level, HPE Gives Bulgaria is the team that puts the “we are a force for good” words into action. They organize and drive a variety of activities to support causes in different areas such as environment, sustainability, health, education, community, and more. Giving back to society and helping those in need is not just a mission but part of their DNA. To learn more about the team behind these initiatives, we have invited two of the most active members – Lyubomira Stanoeva (Lusy) and Stela Ivanova, to share their experiences.

Lyubomira Stanoeva (Lusy)Lusy, you are a full-time Technical Solutions Consultant, you deliver various trainings focused on both technical and soft skills, and you still find time and energy to be part of the HPE Gives Team. What motivates you to be part of the group?

It is an honor for me to be a part of the HPE Gives Bulgaria team, because every single one of the people in this team is an inspiration and role model for me. To be next to such dedicated, determined, and restless people, who make such meaningful causes a reality with such passion and drive, brings me not only satisfaction and fulfillment, but also this greater meaning of being able to do good, not only for myself, but also for others.

Stela, your primary role is Data Center Administrator. How do you combine it with your responsibilities as part of the HPE Gives Bulgaria Team? What is your motivational factor?

I'm happy to be part of HPE Gives because I enjoy working with others who share a passion for helping. Believing that even small changes matter, I'm excited to be part of a team where every effort counts towards making a positive impact.

Stela IvanovaStela, when talking about positive impact, what would you say to other team members across the globe? Why should they join and contribute to HPE’s corporate social responsibility initiatives?

Finding a cause that resonates with you, whether it's environmental, social, or involves helping people or animals, is crucial. I firmly believe that embracing a mindset of giving back to society is transformative and leads to positive change for everyone involved.

Lusy, what would you say to inspire your colleagues?

With HPE Gives, you will feel empowered, and inspired, learn every day, and be taken out of your comfort zone. HPE Gives Bulgaria will help you celebrate life and the human experience.
