How Ashwin Pendyala is making a difference with next-generation technology
Sometimes, getting the simple things right plays a large part in making you successful.
Ashwin starts his day early, catches up on missed communications, and reviews his calendar to get a head start on his schedule. During busy days of attending meetings, project update calls, and working on deliverables, he makes sure he doesnโt skip taking breaks in between for family and fitness!
HPEโs ever-expanding range of services and products allows Ashwin to use his talents, push boundaries and continue to learn and grow with each project โ the perfect foundation for a long and successful career.
Ashwin Pendyala- Leader, Emerging Technologies
Hi! My name is Ashwin Pendyala. I am currently leading the Emerging Technologies space for HPE PointNext, Bengaluru, India.
In my enriching 15 years with HPE, I have been fortunate to navigate a myriad of roles, which include: Support, Business Planning and Strategy, Business Intelligence, and R&D. Now as a Leader for the Emerging Technologies portfolio, it feels like all my years of experience working across multiple functions has prepared me for what I do today.
At HPE, there is a deep sense that employees are the greatest asset of the company. The role I am in now started with a 4-member team. It was through the guidance and support from our senior management, not to mention the confidence and trust placed on us, that we are now a 200+ portfolio, all accomplished within a matter of 2 years. I am constantly inspired by a team that is reliable and self-driven and demonstrates discipline, hard work, and continuous learning at every level.
Our business thrives on innovation. We have achieved multiple tech innovations for many private organizations which benefitted both HPE and our clients. During the first year of the pandemic, we contributed to developing and managing the worldโs largest contact tracing mobile application. The platform enabled creating visibility for all citizens about hotspots of the virus. And I am extremely proud to say that this effort resulted in the honorable President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind awarding the Digital India Award 2020 to our product.
Throughout the process of it all, we had the immense benefit of supportive leadership, which stood by us like a pillar. They enabled us with all the infrastructure, and investments and they had our back through the challenging deadlines. This was supported by meticulous planning and aligning the best talent available. More than the award, it was the feeling of fulfillment of having done our bit during these testing times.
Every team member owned the project with a passion to serve the citizens and it all was well worth the effort in the end. It is staggering to see how when your work gets aligned with a purpose to enhance the way people live and work - your enthusiasm and energy to deliver excellence increases exponentially.
In my ongoing years at HPE, I strive to push the benchmark higher every single day for all the products, services, and experiences we offer. Constantly questioning the status quo and continuous improvement is the professional standard that has been ingrained in our work ethics, thanks to the positive energy of excellence and partnership in the culture of HPE. Along with the autonomy enjoyed by the employees, not just to make their career decisions but also concerning their work, these drivers put the company in the top gear that propels us towards growth.
By trusting an employeeโs judgment, HPE creates a mutual sense of responsibility and accountability toward common goals. The uniqueness of this organization is that it prioritizes its people over share price and therefore, the employees own the company to a point where they look at the profit and loss as their own.
Ashwin with his team and HCFG group in Switzerland
I have had my share of incredible opportunities at HPE through getting to work on some great engineering projects. Being a sports enthusiast, Intelligent Venue as a Service has been closest to my heart. This was a service that we operationalized for clients in Switzerland and later Germany that digitally transformed how fans experience games of ice hockey and football.
HC Fribourg-Gottรฉron, founded in 1937, is a professional ice hockey team based in Fribourg, Switzerland, which competes in the National League (NL). In close cooperation with the HCFG management, HPE PointNext Services defined the digital transformation roadmap focusing on amazing fans and guest experience. The service not only takes care of fan experience at the stadium but also when they are away, contextualizing offline elements as well. This makes every experience personal, while also ensuring that the involved clubs are also seeing an increase in the revenue.
Our Bengaluru team was even invited to Switzerland to understand the game of ice hockey, and local culture, and learn what the fans wanted first-hand. With our iOS and Android apps, and cloud implementation we were able to enable and enhance some amazing features like the Fan & Arena appโ, a Fan Covid-19 app, Indoor Navigationโ, Game Centre & Supportโ, Onsite & Remote Management, Swiss Helpdesk 24x7โ, Digital Signageโ, Data Analytics & Dashboardโ, Live Stream to restroomsโ, etc. It was an exhilarating experience for the entire group and a glowing opportunity for all of us.
At HPE, I am determined to make every day count. The most interesting thing about my role is that I get to witness and be part of the rapidly changing technology landscape. The diversity of the work I do ensures that each day is unique, and I am always focused on bettering the community, itโs that which makes me feel good when the day is done.
